careers- sports:photography, (0:1)

i wish i was in the olympics. when i look back at my sports career (mainly track and field), the words of some famous gangster come to mind: "i could have been a contender." but alas, i have been sitting here on my couch, glued to my television for the past week or so envying all of these amazing athletes, even the badminton players, a sport that i think i may have a chance of actually qualifying for in 2012. or water polo. i have thought this through and have come to the conclusion that these are the two sports that a) do not have much of an age factor, b) i enjoy and c) i have some experience/skill in. i dont know, we'll see. i doubt i have the discipline to pull it off, i mean eventually i think- even as unimaginable as it seems- that i may start to hate whatever sport i was training for. monotony is a killer.

anyways, i doubt i would have time for any rigorous training now with the big job i just landed. yep that's right i have a job. a REAL job. and i am uber excited about it. not only will i be using my degree, i will be getting paid to do things i enjoy and learning along the way. i will be working at holifield photography here in lexington. it is the largest photography studio in central kentucky and is a family owned business that has been around for a several decades. i will doing design work and photography and working my way up the ladder as i learn. i am so blessed to have found such a great first job. i start on aug. 25th. stay tuned for updates!
